AGAINST PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS

(MIAMI, April 10, 2008)

The attorneys for the Plaintiffs in Norman

Braman vs. Miami-Dade County have requested an extension of time to

conduct additional discovery and delay the trial currently set for May

28, 2008, in this important matter. When this case was originally

filed, the Plaintiffs insisted that the issues were of paramount public

importance which presented predominantly legal questions, and had to be

resolved as quickly as possible. The Defendants, which include among

others, the County, the City of Miami and the Florida Marlins, agreed

the case had to be expedited so as not to place undue hardship on

taxpayers and deter progress in moving projects in the so-called "global

agreement" forward. Projects in the agreement include Museum Park, the

Port Tunnel and a County owned Miami Marlins Stadium.

Since February, the County has worked diligently and exhaustively to

compile documents and comply with the expedited discovery period set

forth at an earlier hearing, while at the same time ensuring that each

party's right to due process is honored. To date, more than 24,000

documents have been made available to Plaintiff Braman's attorneys by

Miami-Dade County. The sixty (60) day discovery period initially agreed

to by the parties, is set to conclude on April 22, 2008.

"Mr. Braman's request to delay resolution of this case places a huge

strain on government as we try to lay the groundwork for Miami-Dade

County's future prosperity," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos

Alvarez. "As far as I am concerned, justice delayed is justice denied.

This case needs to be resolved as quickly as possible for the good of

the community. Further delays will result only in increased costs and

uncertainty."

It is the policy of Miami Dade County to comply with all of the

requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The facility is

accessible. For sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices

or materials in accessible format, please call 305-375-1545 at least

five days in advance.
