Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess available on Election Day
(MIAMI, August 25, 2008) - The Early Voting period came to a close
yesterday and the Miami-Dade Elections Department is now busy ensuring
all polling places are ready to go for Election Day.
Voters should remember a few important things before heading to the
polls. Unlike during Early Voting, on Election Day, voters must go to
their assigned polling place, which can be found on their Voter
Information Card or by calling 3-1-1. Voters should bring identification
that contains a photo and their signature. If acceptable ID is not
available, voters will be asked to vote a provisional ballot. Now that
Miami-Dade County is voting on paper, voters should look at both sides
of the ballot to review all questions. The Elections Department ensures
all voters the ability to cast a ballot. Electronic equipment, or
iVotronics, used in previous elections will still be on-site at
precincts for use by people with disabilities.
In addition, media wanting interviews throughout Election Day are urged
to visit the locations below.
