Miami-Dade's business community is invited to gather for an evening of
networking and festivities as The Beacon Council reports back to the
community on the past fiscal year's accomplishments and revs up for its
new year with Tere Blanca, Senior Managing Director for Cushman &
Wakefield of Florida, as the new Chairwoman of the Board of Directors.
The Beacon Council's 2008 Annual Meeting & Lifestyle Auction will be
held October 2, 2008 at The Biltmore in Coral Gables, beginning at 4:30
p.m. The evening will feature remarks and economic perspectives from
local and national leaders, such as Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos
Alvarez and Bruce Mosler, President & CEO of Cushman & Wakefield.
Immediately following the Annual Meeting, the 2008 Lifestyle Auction
will begin. The auctioneer, Mark Trowbridge, President & CEO of the
Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, will pit corporate rivals against each
other, all vying for premier auction items ranging from luxury pieces
from Tiffany & Co. to sports memorabilia, stays at luxury hotels in
Miami and abroad, cruises and trip packages.

WHO: The keynote address will be given by Bruce Mosler,
President & CEO of the world's largest independent real estate services
firm, Cushman & Wakefield, providing insight on the state of the
nation's real estate market.
Addressing those in attendance will also be Miami-Dade County Mayor
Carlos Alvarez, 2007-2008 Beacon Council Chairman of the Board, Pete
Pizarro, President & CEO, eLandia International, Inc. and Incoming
Chairwoman of the Board, Tere Blanca, Senior Managing Director, Cushman
& Wakefield of Florida, Inc.
