The Living Artist Concert Series (LACS) presents new, environmentally themed concerts at the Deering Estate at Cutler. The series combines ensemble performances with lectures, visual art exhibits, environmental awareness and interpretive programs. The following are the founding artists who represent faculty from the University of Miami and Florida International University and top local performers: Dr. José R. López (Pianist), Laura Wilcox (Violist), Ross Harbaugh (Cellist) and Scott Flavin (Violinist).
Concerts are held in the historic Stone House Ballroom that provides an intimate setting with superb natural acoustics for chamber music and offers a perfect environment for the exhibition of visual art. Tickets are $35 per concert. Season subscriptions are $150 for Foundation Members and $180 for non-members. The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami-Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue in Miami. This 444-acre natural and archaeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation. Historic house tours are offered daily with admission to the Estate. Eco-tours are also offered throughout the year for an additional fee.
