Arts at St. Johns' Artistic Director, David Kingery, has gathered an
eclectic troupe of performers, who fiendishly sing and dance their way through this Halloween-inspired evening, with numbers from "Phantom of the Opera" and ghoulish songs such as "The Monster Mash," "I put a spell onyou" and more. The performance includes musicians and artists from the upcoming season, plus a visual-arts gallery of works by Ignacio Font, Ed King, Jean Villamizar / downtowndiva art, and Eric Walton / edub 9. And, as the evening unfolds, the audience becomes entangled in a puzzling murder
mystery. With the help of Barbara Fox and "Mystery on the Menu," the scene
is set for murder, intrigue and mystery, and the audience is invited to solve the crime. Through a series of clues and interviewing of the
suspects, it is up to the audience members to pinpoint the murderer. The first one to solve the mystery correctly wins the grand prize.
The Arts at St. Johns, a performing and visual arts presenter located at
the St. Johns United Methodist Church, opened its doors in 1999, with the goal of presenting quality Arts by local artists, with the added distinction of utilizing the arts as a way of building community and addressing social
issues. The non-profit arts organization has worked with hundreds of local emerging artists and burgeoning arts organizations, enabling many to move on to achieve their dreams of success in the arts.
This Showcase event helps raise funds for the many affordable or free events of this season. Many of the performers and providers are donating
their services for the evening. As a co-sponsor of the showcase, the Claridge Hotel offers an intimate atmosphere within its treasured
