Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Official Call to Artists
TAMPA, Fla. ¯As one of the top-rated outdoor fine art and finecraft shows in the country, the Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts
is officially calling all artists to apply for its prestigious 2008 show being held March 1-2. Each year a select number of accomplishedartists and rising stars from around the globe are chosen to participate in this celebrated show. This year these remarkable artists will vie for the coveted $15,000 Raymond James
Best of Show Award and an additional $52,500 in prize money.
More than 300 national and international award-winning artists,
chosen from over 1,100 applicants, will travel to Lykes Gaslight Square Park
and Franklin Street in downtown Tampa where they will showcase works of
art to more than 250,000 art enthusiasts. Representing more than 11
different mediums, the chosen artists will enjoy amenities that include an
artist's welcome dinner, hospitality center, light meals and refreshments,
booth-sitting services and near-site parking.
On March 1, a nationally respected juror with experience in a
variety of media will review the displayed artwork and make final decisions
prior to the awards ceremony.
